O Mr Eaves! You are clever

This Is Paradise

It's true, he is, you know. It makes one very proud to have worked with such a fellow, even in front of microphones and what-have-you.

Out of hibernation

Ah, we've quite slow coming out of hibernation this year . . . and as we rub our eyes and reach for the drumsticks/bass/guitar/microphones, and even think about making a nice cup of tea to wake ourselves up, we look out of the window, and what do we see?

Radio friendly
This week I have mostly listening to Teenage Fanclub. I'd totally forgotten how brilliant they are, but this clip reminded me: The things I love about this clip are a) the count in, b) the vocal harmony at 1.07 c) the GCSE student playing wicked drums, and d) quite how rubbish they look, proving image is nothing. I know, and I'm sorry - what are you supposed to do now, you cry in anguish? Well, we've been doing a spot of acoustic recording with The Sound of the Ladies (clue: there are no ladies, and he's got a beard), and he, as well as Doing Stuff and pointing a... ... continue ...

Good times
There's a new song we have which seems to have been under wraps for ages now. It's our Christmas song "You're hard to buy for", and although we played it once in a Church, we never seem to get round to performing it. I think it's got a bit of a hold over us. It scares us. We fear the 5/4 ness of it. Songs in 5/4 are usually only written by Sting and jazz types, and in my opinion, are not to be trusted. There are a few notable exceptions, however, "You're hard to buy for being one". I... ... continue ...

Got it covered

Just in case you were wondering (and you were, weren't you?), here's what SOP's next double-gatefold anti-concept album isn't going to look like.
